For the last few years, content marketing has been the king of marketing your business online.

The theory is simple – if you provide your potential customers with enough value up front, when they are ready to buy you will be the first one they think of. The ultimate goal is to have them thinking, ‘If I got this much value for free, imagine how much more I’d get if I actually paid this person!’

But does it really work? With more and more content creators, the internet is getting increasingly crowded, with the majority of written, visual and video content being relegated to digital landfill rather than having the impact that most small business owners want.
